Where can I take the theory test?
The theory test is held at the Danish Road Traffic Authority's test centres in 17 cities across the country — find yours in the overview above. At most locations the test is digital; in Lemvig it is held on paper.
How do I book a theory test?
Your driving instructor books the test for you in the authority's test-booking system once you are ready in your training. Slots are first come, first served, so plan ahead.
What does the theory test cost?
The test fee for a car licence (category B) is DKK 1,600. If you fail, a new fee is due for a new attempt — see the current fees at the Danish Road Traffic Authority.
How does the theory test work?
You get 25 questions and may have at most 5 errors to pass. In the digital test you answer on a screen and get your result immediately.
